Reporting of "Shuffle Answers" and sequence questions

Hi, all!

I'm creating quzzes in 6.0.1.240.

I'm unhappy with the way multiple choice questions (when "shuffle answers" is selected) and sequence questions are reported.

It gives the correct answer:  a, b, d

It gives the user answer:  b, d

However, if it shuffles answers, you have no idea what a, b and d represent.

Ditto with sequence -- it presents it differently every time, so you don't know exactly what they did in their sequence.

Is there any sort of reporting widget that makes this more obvious?

Preferably something that reports to an LMS.  (We use University Site.)

Three extra cheers if it emails, also!

Many thanks!

Hi Ak,

Have you tested this behavior about the shuffle part.

because, I think your should not worry about the sequence at all while creating the project, that the benefit of this opttion. It would always remeber the correct sequence/answer no matter what order it appears after shuffling happens. So goes with sequence, if you correct sequence while creating the course is

a) Option 1

b) Option 2

c) Option 3

d) Option 4

After shuffling at user's end it becomes

a) Option 3

b) Option 2

c) Option 1

d) Option 4

No matter what order it appears in it would always check whether the user response is as Option 1--2--3--4. What matters is the content not the bullet/numbering associated with it.

This is what would be reported to the LMS as well. I do think reporting on email would be possible with Captivate 6 onwards as that feature no longer exists.

Thanks,

Anjaneai

Thank you, Anjaneai!

I found a solution!  I'm using the Google LMS Widget with Email Reporting -- it sends an email of the results that looks way better than the report, and it associates the VALUES with the letters in the m/c options.  So, it reports "Correct:  a - Option 1, b - Option 2"  and "User:  b - Option 2, c- Option 3" rather than just the a, b, etc.  It also gives the correct & user list for sequences, so I'm sticking with that!!!!  I'm REALLY happy with it!
