Resize master slide background image in responsive project

I'm testing out the master slide functionality in a responsive project and I wondered if it is possible to resize a background image for the mobile view. For example I have a background image at 1024x768 pixels which works great for desktop and tablet view but I would love to be able to resize it or be able to move it around in the mobile view to position it better. Is this possible in the master slide view or would it be better to just put the image in the timeline on each slide?

The included themes are responsive, if you start from such a theme you will have the three breakpoint views also for master slides. Is that not what you want?
