I am new to Captiva & trying it.

I an using Captiva for designing responsive courses but I noticed that the background image of the chosen theme doesn't resize automatically as per the screen resolution. I am just using one of themes available in Captiva. How can I resolve this?

Thanks!

Lilybiri, yes it is recommended to resize image while maintaining the aspect ratio. So it means you need to resize the image according to the slide size while maintaining the aspect ratio of the image.

There is however a problem in this case with the Poise theme: In between breakpoint views, the image could be insufficient to cover the whole screen if you put the width to 100% and the height to Auto, in the reverse situatio (Height=100% and width is set to Auto), parts of the image can be cut off.

Hi,

Select the Image and goto position panel. Since the image has Pixel value setting for its width and height, the object does not  resize. Please change the setting to % so that the object rescales according to the slide width and height.

Devraj, will that not cause the image to distort since the width/height ratio can be very different on devices? That is the reason why I recommended % for one of the dimensions and Auto for the other dimension.

Yes, Lieve is right. To maintain the Aspect ration of an object it is required to have one of the Width or height of the object setting to "Auto".

You are probably pointing to the one master slide, Title, which has an image. That is correct: the image has a fixed size in pixels. The Mobile breakpoint view has a smaller size,. If you want to make it more responsive, change to % for one of the dimensions (width or height) and  choose Auto for the other size. That way it will rescale in between the breakpoint views without distorting.
