Responsive Project: Text Caption in Fluid Box not scaling correctly with screen width

Hello,

I'm having a problem with sizing of text captions at different screen sizes in the generated preview of Responsive courses. 
I could not find an existing thread on this issue.
I have the project at the default (1024x627) size for Desktop, and I'm also testing at the 768x627 size for iPad. 

My issue is:
Text caption boxes are scaling incorrectly (becoming narrower than they should) when the screen is scaled using the top slider in the generated preview.

 

I have attached a video showing an example slide with a Shape with text, an image, and a text caption below. This demonstrates:

1. How the slide looks in Captivate's editor (the text caption works fine)

2. How the slide looks in the generated preview (the text caption becomes narrower / smaller than it should when the screen size is made smaller — I am using Microsoft Edge here, however, I also tested this on Google Chrome and other browsers). 

 

My observations:

• Text within a Shape works fine—this problem does not affect text in Shapes.

• Text captions are sized incorrectly in the generated preview.

 

Does anyone know what might cause this? Is this just an issue with Text Captions in Responsive projects, or is there some setting / property I can change which will fix this? Should I continue using Text Captions, or are Shapes more reliable in Responsive?

    Can you show the setup of the fluid box with the text caption?

    Text captions are much older than shapes. I rarely use them. Margins for text captions are defined in .fcm file but I don't know how those margins are scaled when they are in a fluid box.

    Did you keep the minimum font size which is 14pt? I always decrease this to 10 point in a fluid boxes project.

      I see. It seems we've gotten everything we needed to work using Shapes rather than Text Captions—thanks!
      Using Shapes, we now have it working correctly at all the device sizes we need without decreasing the min. font size.

      I didn't realize Text Captions were that outdated—interesting. That may explain why they're not working correctly with Fluid Boxes.

      In the present version lot of older objects are still lingering... hope they'll get rid of them in the next version.

      Shapes offer full control within Captivate. That has never been the case for text captions. Same is valid for the older button types (Text button, Image button, Transparent button). Only the Transparent button is still needed because you cannot use one of the newer types on Quiz slides. 

      The apparently 'normal' attitude of being afraid of changing workflows is the cause of having all those outdated objects and workflows still around.
