Rest of Project Sometimes Doesn't Show

I'm curious if this is a bug. Sometimes I have a image or group that is set to rest of project. As I test it in browser, it does not appear on all slides. Or it will not function on all slides. The slides all use the same advanced action. There seems to be a limit to how many slides can show it, before it hiccups and skips a slide. Any experience with this?

Ah, I had one placed on top but not the other.

However, there is one slide that appears corrupt. My project is 183 slides. The object starts at slide 84 it fails to be clickable at 179. Otherwise, it clicks everywhere else.

I have standard action On Enter thisScript.

thisScript being

-Enable thisTab

-Hide  thisOther Group

-Hide clickHere image

The item thisTab is always visible and clickable. When clicked it opens (apply motion effect) to thisOther Group. The clickHere image on only appears if they make the wrong entry.

So the image button thisTab appears but on slide 179 clicking on it won't trigger the advanced action.

If I create a new slide in the same slide position it works. So I think that slide is corrupt. Every once in a while I have to delete a line  or recreate the advanced action, because what I see on screen isn't what is happening in the background.

You are probably aware of those objects always have to be on top, would be astonished if that was not the case. Which preview method did you use: F11(HTML) or F12(SWF)? Even the Browser previews don't always show exactly what will happen after publishing (especially effects are sensitive).

Can you specify how many slides you think to be a limit?  I always use objects on master slides and/or timed for the rest of the project. Advanced actions can slow down the process, maybe you should post a screenshot of the used action? Did you reflect if it wouldn't have been better to use the master slide instead of timed for the rest of the project. The last is only necessary if you want control over that object, because in that case you need an ID and master slide objects (too bad) do not have an ID.

A couple of things you can check. First, make sure you are running the most up to date version of Captivate. The current version is 9.0.2.437. Make sure when you do upgrade that you follow the release notes precisely. There are some steps that if skipped can cause some problems.

Second, you may wish to make sure that your rest of project item is the top most level. It has happened to me where another object from a later slide blocks the appearance of my rest of project item. Use this check box to ensure that it will be visible for all slides.
