Retake button

Hello,

I'm having an issue with the Retake button showing when published in HTML5. It does appear when doing a Preview (F4), but a publish and upload to ScormCloud, CSOD, or a preview in HTML5 (F11) it does not appear when the quiz is failed. Some of the settings and troubleshooting information below:

  • Captivate 2019 - up to date
  • Tried Chrome and Firefox - same result with no Retake button
  • Quiz attempts set to 3 (tried infinite as a troubleshooting method)
  • Show Retake Button is selected in Quiz Options
  • Cache was cleared and relaunched the preview, same result
  • Tried SCORM 1.2 and 2004 (prefer 2004 for this module)
  • Quiz setting - Pass Required. Score requirement set to 80%
  • Review button is dragged off the stage and unavailable to the user

Does anyone have suggestions that I can try? Because I am at a loss.

Thank you in advance! Joel T

    Correct answer Lilybiri

A test project did not reproduce the issue, and the Retake button displayed correctly.

The theme is custom, but has not displayed this tendency in the past.

The sentence 'in the past' means when?

Try to copy/paste the quiz slides to a new project using the same custom theme. The score slide will appear automatically. Set up the Quiz Preferences and check with F11. It is possible that the project has become corrupted.

If this is a non-responsive project, you should not use F4 as Preview. Only valid preview is F11, Preview HTML in Browser.

You should never mess up with embedded objects, not on quiz slides, nor on the score slide. That is what you did by dragging the Review button out of the score slide. If you don't want to enable Preview you need to do that in the Quiz Preferences, Settings by disabling 'Allow the user to Review...'.

BTW I also warn againd 'Pass Required' instead of 'Optional' because that can also lead to problems.

    Hello Lilybiri,

Thank you for the response.  I only used F4 as a troubleshooting option.

I've not had an issue with dragging the review button off to the side in the past, but I did change the Review setting and the Retake still doesn't appear.

I had "pass optional" in the first attempt, and it still did not show the Retake button.

And this has occurred on different computers as well under different login credentials.

Any other suggestions on what could be causing the button to not show?

    Thank you, Joel T

Is the Retake button appearing with F11 Preview HTML in Browser?
