Can you create roll over states (or up, down, selected states) for buttons where you use imported graphics?

    You can also create a smartshape > use it as a button > enter State View > in each state drop in an image (jpg/png), instead of using image fill. All you then have to do is make the smartshape transparent to keep the hitzone. This works well for buttons that are not regular rectangular shapes.

    I really suggest using the Object Style Manager if you need same shape

    button multiple times, states are available there as well.

    Normal image buttons need three images for the three states. Shape buttons can be filled with images and have also three states. For those you could use one image and change colours, stroke width, alpha etc...
