Question

Save a custom mouse as the default?

I am looking for a way to save a custom mouse that I have created for my projects as the default, since I reuse the same mouse type every time. At this time, I have to make a couple selections to each mouse every time. Is there a way that I can save this customized mouse as the default that comes up every time I do a "Show Mouse"?  Thanks in advance for any help or direction you can provide.

Regards,

Dave

    Hi Dave

The only way I could fathom that happening might be to try creating a Project Template. But even with that I'd question whether the mouse will actually work and retain the custom setup.

One thing to consider is that you do have the ability to edit the mouse pointer on one slide and command Captivate to use the same pointer on all other slides. So perhaps the answer would be to ignore the mouse until the project is nearly complete, then as one of the last steps, configure the pointer for all slides using the technique I mentioned.

    Cheers... Rick

So, there is an option called, Default Entry on the mouse type.... and I cannot change the default. Wow.... the adobe folks missed it on that one. That's disappointing.

Default Entry field is only for showing the click, not for the mouse. You can use Apply to all objects of this type, but AFAIK you cannot set a default mouse cursor. Mouse objects are only used on demonstration simulations (not interactive), which are probably only a small part of the Captivate files since the video hype.
