Question

Save a new object style never completes

I'm using C9 and about 75% of the time when I attempt to save a new object style from the properties panel a small square dialog window opens that says "Save New Object Style".  Unfortunately, the box is white and the process never completes.  The only way I can continue is to force close the program (and hope I remembered to save everything).

Any ideas on a solution to this problem?

Thanks,

John

Do you clear the cache regularly? Do you launch Captivate as administrator? Is Captivate installed on your system, not on a networked drive?

Did you try editing or creating a new style using the Object Style Manager, if yes, is that leading to the same problems?

    Thanks for the reply.

It is installed on my C drive.  I am running as an administrator.  I did not clear the cache, but even after I did I still had the same issue. I have not had any issues create new styles with the Object Style Manager, but it's just not my preferred method.  Here's a screenshot of the problem.

It was just to verify if it was linked with object styles. I tend to set up a theme as much as possible in the OSM, but it happens that I define one using an example on the stage as well.

Do you have a lot of customisation? If not, I would recommend to clean the Preferences, maybe they are corrupted. In the subfolder 'utils' of the Captivate installation folder you'll find a file to run (take the one for your OS). To keep custom items, have a look at this article:

BTW are you on a retina screen?
