Saving Styles and Preferences

Captivate v5.5

Recently I had a problem with my work PC which resulted in my having to re-install Captivate. It was only then that I discovered all my Styles and Preferences were lost and having no record of what settings I have used it was a long job trying to get everything back to what I was used on previous projects.

Now I am told I am going to have more work done on my PC - installing Windows 7 which will again mean I will have to re-install Captivate.

Is there anyway to record/save my current Object Styles and Preferences prior to IT getting their hands on my PC ?

    Correct answer Lilybiri

Try: File, Export, Preferences (will create a file with extension cpr) and re-import them after reinstall (File, Import, Preferences); for Styles: File, Export, Styles (will create a file with extension cps) and dito for re-import
