Question

scalabel content captivate 13

I'm looking for guidance on making software simulations created in Captivate 13 scale properly across different screen sizes.

In older versions of Captivate, there was a "Scalable HTML Content" option that could be enabled. My understanding is that in Captivate 13 responsive HTML output is built in, but it doesn't appear to apply to software simulations.

Has anyone found a practical solution for making simulations resize correctly on different displays without requiring users to change their screen resolution or browser zoom?

You might be better off using Classic. at least for now. The scalable HTML (as far as Captivate is concerned) is really for non-responsible layouts. Captivate 12/13 only build responsive sites*.

*Disregarding the blank PowerPoint slide trick; that still won’t scale.

Thank you for the suggestion! We’ve already invested quite a bit of time adapting to Captivate 13 and have found some decent workarounds for simulations. The main blocker is still the scalability piece. Having to continue to use Classic is also becoming harder and harder.

I did experiment with adding a wrapper in the index file, which helps to some extent, but it reduces clarity and for what we are capturing it’s not a viable solution either. We’re hoping this is something Adobe is aware of and plans to improve in future releases.
