Scoring branches in simulations

I am publishing interactive simulations as scored quizzes, and I can't figure out how to set the scoring options to allow a user to follow a particular branch without losing points for all the interactions in the other branch. So the student can never get 100% on a quiz, even if he answers all the questions correctly. He is always missing the points from the other branch.

I am using Captivate 3.

Any suggestions?

I don't think the native Cpativate scoring is set up to handle this complexity. Nothing in the quiz setup allows you to judge a complex pathway - it assumes always that 100% = all possible correct answers.
