Scoring of Click boxes and TEB's

Hi Lilybiri,

I was searching thru the forum to find out how to set up the scoring for an Assessment style software sim. One of the contributors, Ron Ward, mentioned that he turned off Hints during the assessment, and used a 2nd failure caption with a different feedback message.  I cannot find how to make that happen.

I also do not see a Scoring Summary slide that would appear after the sim was over.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

| Steve

Correct answer Lilybiri

Both scores of TEB's and click boxes will be included in the Total score, which is stored in the system variable cpQuizInfoPointsscored. All the fields on the score slide are filled by quizzing system variables or calculated from them.

For normal quiz slides the score slide is added by default, for other scored objects you need to turn it on in Quiz Preferences, Settings.

BTW you have a great overview in the Advanced Interaction panel (F9).

As for multiple failure messages, they are available for question slides (up to 3), but not out of the box for TEB's nor click boxes/buttons. I don't know what Rod meant exactly, but it is not an 'out of the box' feature.

Thanks Lilybiri!

I can create a slide and use the Advanced actions to show that variable.  I had originally thought Capt might create a summary page.

I do have a work around for my 2nd level failure, but it’s an extra set for each slide.  I was hoping Capt would allow it.

You’ve been very helpful.  Thnx…

You can simply insert the Score slide as well: all the fields will be available even though you don't have any Quiz slide.

You can of course create a custom score slide, like those explained in one of my blog posts:
