SCORM Packing Question

My company normally doesn't do SCORM compliant online learning.

We have a ton of modules that are not SCORM compliant, but one of our clients is asking for a SCORM package to put on another LMS.

Anybody have this situation? Do you use Capitivate to prepare SCORM 1.2  packages for other LMS’s?  Do you have to keep Capitivate live or can you just output the package and send them the zip?

Thank you.

If your course was created with Adobe Captivate and you have the source project files, then you should be able to adjust the project settings for SCORM output and publish to a zip file.

Be sure to test this zip archive yourself in an LMS first to make sure it works as expected BEFORE sending it to your client.  SCORM Cloud is an online LMS that allows you a free account for testing purposes and it is recognised as the gold standard for SCORM compliance.

However, your client's LMS may NOT be gold standard when it comes to SCORM, so it is not unusual for there to be some back-and-forth between you and the client to make adjustments before the package works as expected on their end.

Thanks for the response and recommending SCORM Cloud.

My project was not built using Captivate. We edit with Premiere and export out as MP4. I have read that I can import the MP4 and put a wrapper on it. Do you have expereince doing this? Is it possible?

I've not tried to wrap an MP4 video alone in a SCORM wrapper.

It may be possible, but I think you may still run into issues with getting many LMSs to recognise completion when all you have for content is a video.
Try this site: Create H5P and host your content on Lumi - Lumi Education

The H5P elearning authoring tool does not create SCORMs, so they usually suggest uploading your content to LUMI to get it to wrap a SCORM.  Perhaps you can try that.
