Question

SCORM shows as "Completed" but LMS shows "In Progress"

Hi,

I have set up a course which it is a mandatory for everyone to review each slide in order to complete the course.

Below is the following set up in Captivate 4:

Standard SCORM 1.2

Report Status: Complete/Incomplete

Report to LMS as: Percent

Choose Report Data: Slide views only

Slide View Completion: 100%

Reporting Level: Interactions and Score

LMS Customization Settings: check mark on the Escape Version and Session ID

The information is recorded correctly in Java Console window as “Completed” after all the slides have been reviewed. This information is also interfaced correctly in “Internal SCO Status” field in LMS when I drilldown from the milestone status.

The issue is only a handful of learners’ milestone statuses are still showing as “In Progress” even though the “Internal SCO Status” field in LMS shows as “Completed”

I have modified the set up several times but this issue is still recurring.

Does anyone else have similar issue and any solutions?

Does flash player version have any roles in this issue, currently set to Flash Player 8?

Is it better to use SCORM 2004 version? What is the difference between 1.2 and 2004 version?

Thank you for all your help!

@s.siswan Based on your description, this sounds more like an LMS issue rather than a Captivate issue. If you have a trace of the set and get calls made between the Captivate's SCORM controls and your LMS and you can confirm that Captivate is setting the module to "Completed" and your LMS is recording it as such, but does not display as such in the "milestone" status then it sounds LMS related.

The Flash Player version should not make a difference in this case, as long as it's equal to or less than the current Flash Player version running on your end user's machines (you can find out here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html).

Also, the difference between using SCORM 1.2 and 2004 depends on what your LMS can support. Maybe you can find in your LMS's help documentation what version of SCORM it can handle. Though 2004 seems like a long time ago, most commercial LMSs are still only supporting 1.2.
