Screen recording via Captivate or video inserting in captivate

Dear Community!

I made a screen record, about 30 sec with Quicktime Player. This video (.mov) I want to insert in my Captivate 8 E-Lecture. I want it to start automatically, when the slide in the lecture is reached.

Problem now is .mov is not possible with captivate, so I changed it to .flv. But the quality is rather bad and also after publishing my E-lecture there are problems, that the video is not playing or you have to start the video.

Can I make screen recording also via captivate? If not, what is the best way to insert a video in an E-Lecture? Is there a possibility that the video starts automatically with the slide? I don´t want it to be shown as a video, I want that the person who watch the E-Lecture thinks that it is a normal slide. Is that possible?

Sincerly

Thomas

You have the option Record Video Demo, which results in a cpvc file that

you can insert on a slide in a cptx-project. Video demo has a dedicated

editor, to pan/zoom and insert static objects, transitions etc.

    Hi Lilybiri!

Thx. That almost works. But after publishing the e-lecture on my computer in file format swf, coming to the slide I see just an wait / working symbol. The slide just stays, but the lecture goes on for some time and change to the next slide. When I export it to pdf, it works.

    You have an idea?

That is strange! How long is the cpvc? What about publishing to HTML5? When you publish to SWF, do you launch the companion HTML-file with the same name? How did you test: after uploading to a webserver or on your local system? For the last scenario, be sure to check Flash Security settings: the folder you publish to has to be 'trusted'.
