I want to use Captivate for a modular training program for customer service staff. The staff need to be able to search within the training program to access modules and/or information within the modules. Can I do this in Captivate?

Thanks for your response--

Would Connect Professional make it searchable? I work at an information centre at a large university and the training is for our call-center and front-counter staff of about 10-15. We are hoping to connect the training modules to the internal, searchable database that staff use to answer client questions. So in addition to a search function I also need to be able to include links both to and from the training modules. Is this possible?

I don't know much about RoboHelp but am open to using it if it would be useful in other ways as well.

I am trying to keep the training software as simple as possible.

Sorry if these are simple questions but all this is quite new to me.

Hi plumginger and welcome to our community

Captivate output will not offer any means of searching. This would fall into the realm of maybe the Learning Management System. Or, if you are using it, something like RoboHelp HTML could be used to manage a collection of Captivate output files and offer an ability to index them and provide a search for text inside the pages that would present the Captivate movies.

Just thinking out loud... Rick
