Sending TEB (text entry box) variable to LMS - Captivate

Problem: Need an user input field in Captivate (not classic) to report its content (variable) to the LMS.

In the past, I was able to this in Captivate Classic using a variety of methods (simplest being a survey question). But, with the newest version of Captivate, I'm struggling.

My goal is to "pulse" the learner on a topic. The users input will save in a variable or as a quiz response and kick back to the LMS in reporting either as a quiz question or user interaction data. I tried to use a short answer question field, but having issues with it requiring an "answer" so I'm trying the input field and set it to report to LMS.

If I have it set up right, could be an issue on the LMS side (SuccessFactors Learning)? Here is the input field reporting turned on.

What are some best practices in Captivate to accomplish this goal? Am I missing something easy?
