set the timing for a group

Greetings.

Is it possible to set the timing for an entire group in captivate 8?

when i select a group the entire timing properties menu disappears.

each item in the group can still be selected and individually timed still, but that seems to defeat the purpose of the group function.

any advice?

thanks.

No, because a group can have objects with different timelines.  Maybe sometimes that could be useful, but personally I'm using groups to:

    • manage the objects
    • use groups in advanced actions, much easier in many cases like Hide a group, then Show one item out of the group
    • use groups in shared actions: because a parameter can be an object or a group, this makes a lot of shared actions more versatile

Just these examples, as an answer to '....seems to defeat the purpose of the group function', where I do not agree.
