Set up Responsive Project Captivate 9 for ALL browser resolutions

Is there some method I can apply to a template or to images and text that will make the content dynamic to fit all browser resolutions? I watched a video about putting some images or text centered or figuring out if an image should be height % and width auto for sizing. Then, there's the positioning and smart positions. I feel like I'm trying to do calculus to figure out all of these variables. Responsive projects makes me feel like I'm a beginner in Captivate.

Is it possible there is a guide created that says: set images to "this setting" and text to "this setting" to be dynamic throughout all browser resolutions. I can set the tablet and the smart phone separately, but what if the users have resolutions that vary? I really want this to work because it's so cool - but Adobe has not made this easy. I compare it to having to know DOS code vs. click here in Windows. If Captivate could ask me a few questions or guide me through this - BAM! solved!

And...do I have to set a sideways phone view or does the phone do that itself? If I can figure out publishing to phone I could answer this myself.

Anyone have some basic or advanced guidance or a link to some that will help? I noticed how all videos skip steps so I have to figure out the capability gaps and try to solve them. We all know that Captivate users need to be problem solvers and good at workarounds. But this...has me stumped!

Hoping and praying for some help. Adobe needs to catch up their videos for V9.

Fit all browser resolutions? That is a myth, sorry to tell you as much. Setting up a responsive project is 'hard labour' with much more trial and error than normal projects. Yes, you need to set up landscape and portrait breakpoints for the 'best' results, certainly for phones. Do not believe one layout can fit each screen, that is just xxxx

Did you ever see videos that explain something very accurately? I still have to watch the first, sorry about that cynical note.

Position Properties panel is the panel you'll need to use as often as possible. I use the Rulers/Guides (in %) a lot as well for responsive projects. Like for normal projects I always start with setting up object styles (part of the Theme), but in this case for all breakpoint views. This is especially important for styles of text containers. Up till now, to my experience setting up a responsive project takes way too much time to achieve a mediocre result if many different browser resolutions will be used. Even if you focus on a browser with a specific width (for many android phones 360px is very common), the result will not always look the same on different smartphones with that browser resolution, maybe because they use a different Android (in Europe more common than iOS) version.

Don't feel bad, I know Captivate rather well, but with responsive projects I often feel very dumb.

Thanks Lilybiri!!! I was feeling stoooopid!

If it's challenging you then the rest of us will really be challenged!

The video I watched basically said you have to compromise on your smartphone view. You set the image one way on 1024, the tablet shows less of that image and the smartphone even less. She even had to remove an image from smartphone view. That's how she as able to get her "in between" or "non-standard" resolutions to work. That wasn't an option for this project as all views needed to maintain the same info and images.

Come on Adobe! You have large teams of people - make it happen! Buy a company that's figured it out maybe. Lol. Don't
put so much problem solving on your users.

The latest versions have some great new features that main competitor had, but this is something they don't so make it great and you'll rule the ID world!
