Shapes not fading with slide

Captivate 9:

I work with confidential information and when doing training I use opaque shapes to cover it.  When I put a fade on the slide (no fade or transition on the shape) I can see the information briefly before the shape covers it up.  Why is it doing this?  Is there a way to make them fade in at the same speed?  I have tried grouping the shapes and that isn't working.  Any ideas?

    I've also noticed this.  It appears that the slide fade in works differently to the fade ins on objects on that slide.  The slide's own fade in appears to begin BEFORE its timeline starts.  It's probably due to the fact that in order to get a  more seamless fade between slides, the slide before needed to be visible at the same time the second slide is fading in over the top of it.

    So I don't think there's any way around your issue except to edit the slide background graphic to permanently remove the confidential information.
