Shapes not working in Captivate 9.0.2.437 Mac

I am trying to draw a shape. When I select the shape I get the crosshair until it touches the slide, then it disappears and no shape. I can see a dashed outline if I drag it outside the slide, even going into the slide, but no shape appears. It seems to be intermittent. Mac OS X 10.9.5 32GB RAM.

I only posted once, it must have been caught in some submit loop. Not trying to be unfriendly.

It fell 4 times in my mailbox and in the moderator queue, not always same phrasing. Doubt it was a loop. Every thread has to be moderated, maybe you were impatient because you did not see your question appearing immediately No problem, just wanted to explain my warning.
