Show Mouse Click: Best Practices?

Show Mouse Click is that blue dot (default color) that appears at the cursor point, when it shows a click. 

A question came up about removing the Show Mouse Click option in our lessons. By default they are on in CP and I personally like to have them there. Is this just a personal preference by each instructional developer, or is there a best practice for not/including Show Mouse Click? Do you use it?
