Show slide notes during presentation

Hi, everyone!

I'm trying to replicate the look of a project I created using Presenter (to comfort the higher ups as to the change in software).  The training I am working on has audio that mentions the fact that you can read the slide notes in the area next to the presentation (where the table of contents is).

In Presenter, the skin allows a tabbed dock, for table of contents, notes, etc.  Is it possible to create something like that in captivate?

    Hi,

As you said you have audio in your project. Then you can make use of 'Closed Captions' which appear at the bottom of the slides. This might serve your purpose.

One of the workflow to add closed captions -

    1. Open slide notes panel - menu Windows > Slide Notes

    2. Add notes to the panel. If you have audio, mark the notes as 'closed captions' using the checkboxes.

    3. Open Closed captions tab using shortcut 'Ctrl-Alt-C' and time your closed captions.

    4. Go to 'Project > Skin Editor' and check the 'closed captioning' checkbox.

Now published project should give you notes at the bottom of the project.

Well, I have audio, but the audio that I have is embedded in the SWF files

that I have imported to the stage. So, since I haven't applied the audio to

the slide itself, Captivate does not recognize that audio exists. Because

of this, it isn't letting me choose "Close Captioning"

    Hello,

I do like the tabbed dock in Presenter too, and please if you want something similar in Captivate, fill in a wish form (link is in the main page of these CP-forums).

So you understand that this is not available in CP right from the start. The TOC is a (even better) way then in Presenter, because you can build an hierarchy (by grouping slides) and have the ability to show checkmarks for completed slides. You did not tell us which version of CP you are using, if it is CP5 you can even collapse the groups (can be expanded by the user) and add a video to the TOC (like in Presenter). But it is not possible to have a Notes tab in the same place. However you can add Closed Captions and show them in the published movie. The Search feature (like in Presenter) is available if you use the TOC.

Hope this helps, and please, fill in a wish form, I really understand and fully support your request.
