Simulation - Continue with Custom feedback on last attempt

Hi

I have a simulation Demo, Training and Assessment modes.

In the Training and Assessment modes, I want to give two attempts.

1.   On getting it wrong (clicking anywhere outside the Click Box) on the 1st attempt I want the learner to try again. So, I have a given  Failure Caption "Incorrect, please try again.".

2.   On the 2nd incorrect attempt, I want to give a feedback "Incorrect" and continue to next slide automatically.

I have set the number of attempts to 2 and action on Last Attempt to "Continue". But before it continues, I am getting the "Incorrect, please try again" feedback, which is not right as there is no way to try again.

Where am I going wrong? How to get it right? Please advise.

Regards

Sreekanth

The issue seems to be with the timing of the "Incorrect, please try again" feedback. It's likely being triggered before the learner has a chance to try again on the second attempt.

    Here's a possible solution:

    1. Create a separate feedback layer: Instead of using the "Incorrect, please try again" feedback within the existing slide, create a new layer specifically for this purpose.
    2. Trigger the feedback layer conditionally: Set the layer's visibility to "Hidden" by default. Then, use triggers to show the layer under the following conditions:
      • First incorrect attempt: Trigger the layer to show when the learner clicks outside the Click Box on the first attempt.
      • Second incorrect attempt: Trigger the layer to show when the learner clicks outside the Click Box on the second attempt, but also set a delay of a few seconds before it appears. This delay will give the learner a brief moment to realize they've made a mistake before the feedback is shown.
    3. Adjust the action on Last Attempt: Ensure that the "Continue" action is still set for the last attempt, but make sure it's not triggered until after the feedback layer has been shown.

By following these steps, you should be able to achieve the desired behavior, where the learner sees the "Incorrect, please try again" feedback only on the first incorrect attempt and is automatically moved to the next slide after the second incorrect attempt.

Let me know if this works!
