In Captivate 9.0.0.230 I have a slide with two buttons that play a sound if you click them. However, one of the requires two single clicks (not double click) to work.

Settings are the same on both buttons.

Problem accrues only if I publish/preview in HTML5 (same in different browsers on Windows). All buttons works fine in Flash.

Anyone had the same problem, or better, a solution?

Adding the zipped file: https://connect.wezupport.se/two-clicks/source/d1_k2_f5_f2_p1-two-clicks.zip?download=d1_k2_f5_f2_p1-two-clicks.zip

Correct answer swedan

Update:

Seems the problem only accrues (in the combination I described earlier) if I publish as a scorm-package and view it locally. If I publish it to the LMS (in this case Opigno) it works fine.

This seems to be the issue:

When clicking the Submit button on the question slide, success & failure is set to Continue. The slides continues and plays the sound in the Timeline.

That is the same sound file that is used on the button on the next slide. If I change the sound file on the question slide timeline the button on the next slide works perfect with just one click.

So the common thing for these two slides is that the same sound file is used. I even get this problem if I create a new project.

That is very weird, I'm not convinced it is due to the sound file at all. Wished I had time to double check, but impossible at this moment. How do you trigger the audio clip: as slide audio, connected to an object or with the command 'Play audio'?

In the timeline on the question slide. Plays after hitting the Submit button.

And on the following slide, as a simple action: Play audio, on a button.

Update.

  • It works fine when I priview in HTML5 but not when I publish.
  • Dublicate button does not help

  • Moving the the button slide before the question slide makes the button to work on a single click! Does anyone know why?

I cannot figure out what is wrong So, it seems to be linked with the question slides. Do you have any On enter action or On Exit action? In the screenshot I see a lot of similar slides, is it happening on all slides?

This is probably due to the pauses of the buttons, could you post a screenshot of the timeline please?

Here it is! The whole slide.

This slide has only one button that is pausing, the next button. Shapes 2908 and 2911 (why not label them?) will probably trigger the audio clips. How do you trigger them: with a simple action or with an advanced action? May I suggest to give both shape buttons a pausing point, either at the same moment as the Next button or bit earlier, but they should have the same pausing time. You can trigger the audio clip with a simple action, but have to uncheck the option 'Continue Playing the Project'. In that set up the playhead will stop at 1.5secs from the beginning of the slide, and remain at that frame until the user decides to click on the Next button to go to the next slide.
