From the little bit to be seen in the video, I deduct that you use version 11.5 and are creating a responsive project. Such a project doesn't allow a choice of a playbar, which means you cannot edit it neither.

Terminology is a problem: although the Skin editor settings are part of the Theme of a project, I didn't see anything related with the other components of the theme. It is indeed confusing that you see that word 'Theme' in the setup of the skin.

Only a non-responsive project allows editing colors of the playbar, those settings should be dimmed for a responsive project.

    Thanks for a concise response. Do you feel this is a correct design choice by Adobe, or is it done due to a limitation?

    Being just a user, I can not judge any decision about design. For a responsive project the playbar is much less important even than for a non-responsive project since you have the gestures as feature. Moreover the space allowed in a phone or tablet browser is much more limited. That is also the reason you can only have a TOC in overlay for that type of projects. Personally I never use a playbar, always create custom navigation buttons and other buttons.

    • What Captivate version and what OS version are you on?
    • Did this previously work for you and then suddenly stop working, or is this happening the first time you try to use it?
    • Does this happen for all projects or just one particular project?
