Slide duration marked as 30 seconds, but only appears for 3

We're demo-ing our training at this point and ran into this issue. We imported files from PowerPoint (with no animation, no slide advancing of any kind in the PPT file). When we ran the demo as such, the slide duration worked fine. At the end of the slide deck in Captivate, I decided to add a simple text-only slide. In the properties tab of that additional slide, I marked the duration for this slide to be 30 seconds, but it only appears for 3 seconds. How do I resolve this?

Really? Can you post a screenshot of the timeline and of the Timing Properties panel?

Why would you need a 30secs slide? Is there an audio clip with that length, or do you stagger different texts on the timeline? Those are the only reasons why I have to increase the length of a slide. In all other cases, if you want to leave the user more time, insert an interactive object like a Next button that pauses the slide.
