Slide Timing

I can't have my project run like a movie. The slide has to show until the user clicks the "forward" button on the playbar. I set the default project settings to 300 seconds and I also changed the display time for each individual slide to 300 seconds. I opened the project this morning and each slide is playing for 3 seconds. Am I missing a step?

Rick, thanks. I will give that a try. I just tried putting in an image button (slecting a "Next" button from those in Captivate) but I couldn't get it to work. The slide is now grayed out, the next button doesn't work, and it still plays as a movie.

Well.... if you had set the timing to 300 seconds, what could be happening is that you failed to change the action of the Next button when clicked. By default, the action is to "Continue". This means that when clicked, the playhead continues playing. If that slide is 300 seconds long and the button paused at perhaps 1.5 seconds, you still have to watch the slide for another 298.5 seconds before you see slide 2. So I'm guessing you need to double-click the button and choose "Go to next slide" for the button action. Then when it is clicked, instead of playing whatever remaining slide time there is, you immediately see the next slide.

I'm not exactly sure why timings would have reverted on you, but it would appear (at least to me) that you are approaching it wrong. Leave the slides timed at 3 seconds each. Then insert a Click Box object on each slide. This should force each slide to pause and wait until your user either clicks the Play button or clicks the slide itself (assuming you size the click box to cover the slide) before progressing.
