Slidelet in Captivate 3

Good morning and happy Friday!

I recently upgraded to Captivate 3 and am curious about the use of the Slidelet. During a practice, I added a slidelet with an image, but I'm confused as to what the purpose of the slidelet actually is because it seems very similar to using a rollover image.

If someone could explain the use of the slidelet and provide some examples of when it might be useful to use, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hiya sillywabbit, Trix are for kids!

Think about it this way. You may insert a rollover Caption. You may insert a rollover Image. But try to combine them so you see both the image and the caption at the same time! You can't do it because whichever rollover area is in front always takes precedence. But with a rollover slidelet you can make it happen!

One thing I have users do in my classes is to time the slidelet for perhaps 30 seconds. Then insert rollovers inside the slidelet. Then your user rolls over the slidelet activation area and clicks to "Stick" the slidelet. Then they are able to mouse over the areas inside the slidelet to interact. (The areas aren't visible until the slidelet appears).

Does that help?

Hope so... Rick

Does anyone know how many slidelets can be added to each slide in Captivate 3? I'm trying to add 5, but I can't get past 1.
