Slidelet pauses slide but audio continues

Hello everybody,

Well, the title makes it pretty clear. The slidelet pauses the slide but the TTS keeps running.

I'm using Captivate 7. The slide is about 1 minute long and has 2 slidelets. I already tried:

- Using just one slidelet

- Emptying the cache

- Publishing

- Removing the TTS and importing it again from the library

Is anyone familiar with this problem? It would be great if this could be solved!

Thanks!

Correct answer Lilybiri

OK, got it now. Slide will pause for the duration of the slidelet. Because of the many problems with slidelets, I avoid them too much, only use them for their events.

Slide audio will not pause, once it is started, you are correct. You could use the rollover event to pause the audio (works) but one of the problems I talked about is that it has no 'rollout' event. Audio will be paused until you use another event to have it continue. There are different ways to pause the audio with the slidelet events, but not to restart it. And I suppose you want audio to stop just for the time of the slidelet?

I cannot help you, don't see an easy solution.

Sorry, maybe it is clear to you, but I don't understand your question? A slidelet is not pausing a slide, it is not an interactive object, more kind of a hybrid (because it has a click and a rollover event). Could you explain how you pause the slide with a slidelet? Are you using one of the events to 'pause' the slide? What is the goal of the slidelet?

And which version of CP are you using?

Hi Lilybiri,

Every single time I have used a slidelet, it paused the slide without setting any events or advanced actions.

I just checked an older project I made. Hovering over the slidelet pauses the slide, including the on-stage video. Moving the mouse cursor away from the slidelet, makes the slide and video continue.

I am under the impression this has always been the case.

In the project I'm working on now, activating the slidelet does pause the slide, but the audio keeps on running. I would like to stop the audio as well.
