SLIDES NOT LOADING

I've created a very simple course (59 slides, photos and text only, no animation or FLVs, etc.) that covers eight topics. After the introductory slides which navigate linearly, there is a slide with a map with links to each of the different topics.  Each topic has several slides with a main slide that returns the student to the map.  I've turned off the playbar and inserted navigation buttons.  Looking at the branching everything is correct. However, regardless of whether I preview the course or publish it, the slides appear only faintly - even those at the very beginning. Any idea how to correct this problem?

    Hello,

What do you mean by 'appear faintly'? Could you perhaps post a screenshot using the smal still camera icon in the toolbar?

Can you check slide transitions, and eventually transitions of objects on the slides? Are they perhaps set to fade in, and is the slide pausing (due to your navigation) during the fade in period?

Thanks! It was that I had the transitions for each slide set to fade.  Individual objects, no.  I'm not understanding why that would be a problem on this course, unless it's because of all the branching.  I have several other courses that are linear and the slides are set to fade, and I've not had any problems with them.

One other question: Because I'm not using the playbar for navigation, the questions slides in the quiz section at the end of the course don't have a means for students to forward to the next question and the software doesn't allow me to insert a buttons or forward/back widgets.  Any suggestions for adding navigation to the quiz slides, other than their using the table of contents?

    Hi Janice,

Are those question slides default question slides from Captivate? If yes, which settings did you change, because normally question slides will advance when the user has submitted his answer and clicked on Y or on the slide after watching the Success/Failure captions. No need to add extra navigation. You cannot add interactive objects to question slides. There is one exception: the Button widget in Captivate 5, that pauses after 6,5secs. In Captivate 5.5 you have to use the Static Button widget, that is not pausing!
