Slides work, but preview/publish does not

I have a project with 36 slides. Every slide works/plays as an individual slide. Created Captivate project from a PPT.

Project craps out at slide 9 when I Preview (freezes) or Publish (goes black and stops).

Settings for slide 9 are just like 8.

Issues with all slides after 8 and before a software demo. The demo works.

I am using Captivate 8 on Windows 7.

Any thoughts with these details as to what is going on?

There'll be a reason for this behaviour.  Your job is to find it using a process of elimination.

Start hiding slides and republishing to locate which slide (when hidden) must contain the issue.  If hiding all slides at some time still doesn't eliminate the issue, then try removing or disabling Advanced Actions or Variables.  Sometimes their naming can be causing conflicts, or else they've become corrupted.

Once you locate the slide or other objects that cause the issue, either remove or rebuild them.

To support Rod's reply...sometimes you just have to go through the pain staking process but in the end, I believe it will save you a lot of time.

I had an issue with reading XML with Javascript and after messing with it for quite  while, I decided to just add back one line at a time. I came across the issue pretty quick.

It's a great suggestion as a way to troubleshoot your issue.
