Smart Buttons

I am new to Adobe Captivate.  I am trying to have a smart button appear after a few seconds. When I set the timing to have it do that , it doesnt appear at all.

    Select the button on the timeline, and check in the Properties tab that you do NOT have Visible in Output checkbox deselected.

    OK.  Then can you show us a screenshot of your timeline so that we can see what other objects might be on it.  Perhaps another object such as a widget, clickbox, text entry box, or another button is pausing the timeline before your button is due to appear.

    When you say: "Set the timing to appear" are you talking about just placing it on the timeline so that it's start point is a few seconds from the beginning of the slide, or are you using some scripting to try and make it appear?
