Smart Shape Button States Moving from Captivate 8 to Captivate 9

Hello,

I am in the process of moving over to Captivate 9 from C8. I have noticed that all my transparent smart-shapes that were used as buttons (and had no rollover-down states selected) now have a rollover and down state (which is different in every project).

Is there a setting or something I can do so that I don't have to go in and remove the added states to these buttons?

Thank you!

    Correct answer Lilybiri

The way InBuilt states are automatically attached to all interactive objects has changed a lot between CP8 and 9.

Probably the easiest way (but didn't double-check) is to change the Object style which you are using for those shape buttons ad making the three states identical. The effect will be the same: there will be no change on rollover nor on down when states are identical.

Thank you. That worked. It is still labor intensive if any shape was modified in any way, but at least much quicker than having to edit every single object in the project.

I try to avoid overriding object styles but do see that a lot of CP-users don't have that routine. Maybe because they don't realize how much time can be saved when styles (and colors) are applied in a disciplined way. You could have a look at an article about themes?
