Software Simulation only records 3 seconds when recording type is set to automtic

Using Captivate 5.5 - I can record for as long as I want, but when I press "end" and the application window displays, only the first 3 seconds is recorded. I can record FMV no problem. Please help.

Thanks for reaching Adobe Community.

Could you please try to record any other application and see if that makes any difference?

Also please try the below steps:

  • Windows Vista and Windows 7: C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 5.5 folder
  • Windows XP:  C:\Documents and Settings\[user name]\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 5.5 folder

Just rename the Captivate 5.5 folder to something like old.

Try again to record the application.
