Sometimes some slides turn white and I'm stuck on the slide

Hello there,

I have strange problem (or maybe two or three problems):

 

1. Sometimes (!) when I click a few (4-5) times on a slide or move fast from slide to slide by using buttons, the slide turns totally white and I can't navigate away. I'm not using the playbar, buttons are not visible anymore, but I can open the TOC. Unfortunately I then cannot use it to navigate anymore.

 

2. I need to reopen the WBT (I'm using moodle). But then some boxes don't work anymore. This happens every time after problem 1, but as well without problem 1.

 

3. Some buttons with text act strange: when I click on them they change their state as programmed. But when I move the mouse then the text in the box moves a bit to the right and down. The buttons only have two states, I don't know why this third "state" gets activated.

 

All of this problems happen in different projects based on two different masters. I'm using Captivate 2017, version 10.0.0.192 and moodle. This problems occur in moodle, in Chrome (when opening the html5-output) and in the preview.

Has anyone heard of this problems? Any idea what the problem is?

I'm sorry that you didn't get any answer yet. Mostly this is due to a question that is not really understood (in my case) or to something that has never been seen as problem in this forum.

This is a user forum, everyone answering questions is spending free time to help other users.

Some questions that could clarify your question:

  • How is custom navigation set up? Apparently those are the culprit, but I see no details in your original question. I always use custom navigation in my projects, but never had an issue like you descrinbe.
  • What do you mean by the word 'boxes'? Are those Text Entry Boxes?
  • Buttons with text: which type of buttons are you using (text buttons, transparent buttons, shape buttons)?
  • You talk about buttons 'moving', are you on a responsive project or a non-responsive project? If it is a resonsive project, did you use Fluid Boxes or Breakpoint Views?
  • Did you check the Object State panel maybe some states are not in exact the same location? You talk about 'changing state', did you add a Custom state or the InBuilt state 'Visited', is that what you are talking about?
  • The sentence 'based on two masters' is puzzling for me. Each project will use a Theme, all the master slides are part of that theme. Which theme do you use? If it is a custom theme, was it created in this version or is it an updated theme? This is related to my question about the type of project, because a custom theme with Fluid Boxes is different from a theme for a normal, non-responsive project.

Thank you for your answer. I know that it is a user forum.

- Navigation: I don't use the playbar, I use buttons (Smart shapes with text.)

- Boxes: The slide turns totally white. I don't see nothing. On the slide are smart shapes and normal text fields, no text entry boxes.

- Buttons with text: I mean smart shapes with text, used as buttons

- Non-responsive project

- I did check the states: there are two states. The second one was defined by me. There is no problem with this two states. They work as I want them to: When I click on a button it changes its state (From State 1 to State 2). But when I move then the mouse the text in the button moves a bit to the right and down. The text then stands partly outside the the button.

- Based on two masters: I created different projects. The projects are based on different Masters, some on Master A, some on Master B. I created my themes in this version of Captivate.
