Question

Sound starts (and don't restart) upon click box

I use software simulation tutorial and I added a resource that when the student pass the mouse cursor upon an icon, this act releases a sound (voice narration).

The problem is when the student moves out the cursor, the sound stop and when the student back the cursor upon the icon, the sound starts at the same point it stoped earlier.

I would like to work like this:

When the student moves the cursor upon the icon, the sound starts, when he moves out, the sound stops. If the student moves upon the icon again, the sound starts from the beginning. Actually when the student moves upon the icon again, the sound starts at the same point it stopped earlier.

When I use to view the project "next 5 slides" it works as I want, but when I publish it, it doesn't work correctly.

How can I solve this problem?

Thanks

What do you mean that you "added a resource" to play a sound on rollover?  What kind of resource is this?

As far as I know, if you are using a Rollover Caption or Rollover image or Rollover Smart Shape and have the audio attached to the object that appears on rollover (the caption, image or shape) then the sound file begins anew each time.

Let me try to explain the resource I use step by step:

    1) I insert a click box

    2) change the properties to show only the tip on rollover

    3) I add an audio (voice narration)

I added an image to explain the resource I used (my version of Captivate is 9 in Portuguese)

When I use preview (next 5 slides) it works as I want, but when I publish, the sound start at the same point it stopped earlier.

    Thanks for a while.

Are you publishing the course for HTML5? We have the same issue and haven't found a solution yet. Publishing for SWF (or previewing the next 5 slides) starts the audio from the beginning every time, where as when it's published for HTML5 is remembers the point at which you left the audio and resumes from there next time the audio is loaded.
