Question

spacebar as shortcut key

I am using Captivate 4 and have created a few click boxes that use the spacebar as a shortcut key to mimic another software application. When I preview the slides within Captivate, using the spacebar shortcut executes the action I have set, but also opens the table of contents panel for the course. I cannnot figure out a way to prevent the TOC from opening. I have tested the "spacebar opens TOC" on several slides and find that it only seems to occur when my previous action was using the TAB key as a shortcut (again mimicking another software app). Even though this happens within Captivate itself (as well as in my LMS), I tried disabling the Seamless Tabbing parameter which solved other TAB issues, but it had no effect on this issue. Any idea how I can prevent the TOC from opening when using the spacebar?

    Hello,

Just want to know do you have TOC in your project or does it come only when you press spacebar ??

Also are you using TOC in your project ??

On which OS are you working ??

Is this happening only with this project or did you tried a diffferent project as a testing ??

    Thanks

I do have a TOC set up in my project. It should be accessed through a small "button" in the upper left corner of the project.

The TOC opens when I have pressed TAB on the previous slide and then spacebar. If the previous action is not TAB, then spacebar does not open the TOC.

    This happens in multiple projects.

I am using Captivate 4 in Windows XP.

    Hello,

You can change the way to preview TOC (use a different button combination) as you have a button just to open TOC.

As both events are attached to spacebar so it can cause confusion to the project, calling 2 events from one button (spacebar) !!

As per my understanding are you using a script to call TOC from that button on the left corner or is there any option to do that ??

Is that button (to call TOC) is appearing on all the slides ??

    Thanks
