Question

Split TTS audio & assign audio to different buttons

Hi there,

I have a slide including a TTS audio sequence. I also have a graphic with two transparent buttons placed on it.

Now I would like the first part of the audio be played when button 1 is clicked, and the last part of the audio be played when button 2 is clicked.

Is there a possibility to do this? Can I split a TTS audio sequence and place both sequences on one slide?

Thanks for you help!

I think that would be a lot easier using Flash buttons, and definetely not hard to code.

However if you need to stick to Captivate, I think you could manage to do something like that with Rollover Slidelets by attaching audio to them. Nevertheless, I'm not sure if you could configure them to reproduce the sound when clicking, as it would start when rolling over. Would that work for your project?

    Hi there

Actually it could all be done in Captivate. Depending on how adventurous you wish to be, you might accomplish it using Advanced Actions. Or you might accomplish it using simple Success captions (where the audio is attached to the Success caption).

Well I suppose that depends on a couple of factors.

    1. You have Flash available.

    2. You actually know what to do with it once you open it up!

Sure, if someone knows Flash, it's probably child's play.

    Cheers... Rick

That was a nice one! I did not notice that you could add audio to the success and failure captions. That will also help me for future projects!
