HI!

When I publish the Captivate (Captivate 5) demo to our server, 4 files would normally be created, but NOW Captivate is not creating the standard.js file.

When I publish now, Captivate only creates the following files:

  1. .htm
  2. .swf.
  3. skin.swf

Therefore, the swf will not play!

I have not had this issue in the past, it is a recent issues.

Any suggestions? Your help is appreciated!

Thanks!
KIM

Are you using the Publish option to FTP files direct to a server?

Before you blame Captivate, try changing your publish destination to some local folder on your own machine and check whether the JS file gets published as well.

You may find that something is intercepting the JS file (e.g. Antivirus software) when you publish directly to the server location.  I find sometimes I have to publish locally and then manually copy or upload to get JS files to be accepted.

    HI,

    Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I am using the publish option in Captivate and I am publishing directly to the server as I have many times before without issue. I have tried publishing directly to a folder on my desktop and still no standard.js file is created.

This just started happening yesterday. I have published over 400 files without issue. I can't figure it out.

    Thanks!
    Kim

Does the project work if you manually copy a standard.js file from another project into the publish folder?

Do you get a standard.js file created in the publish folder if you try any of the other publish options (e.g. SCORM or AICC output)?
