Stock Animation .swf Not Playing in Captivate 4

A stock .swf animation of a clock does not play in Captivate 4 preview or publish mode. The image of the clock does appear but it is always high noon.

In contrast, in edit mode viewing the clock's properties window does play the animation.

The first time I added the .swf, Captivate alerted me with a message about a script referencing the root, offering OK or Cancel as I recall. The message doesn't repeat, even if I add the .swf to a new project.

The animation is at istockphoto.com (search for 000004460619). The clock's zip file contained .swf and .fla files but I don't have Flash installed.

Any suggestions cheerfully accepted.

    Hi there

Oftentimes the warning about referencing Root is simply a nuisance and may be totally ignored.

I find that the animation works here on my own PC if I click Edit > Preferences... > Project node > Publish Settings node and configure for AS3.

    Perhaps try that?

    Cheers... Rick

I've had a few warnings about the _root problem

In preferences make sure you select the checkbox for Animations when you publish.

I'm disappointed I cant seem to load in some flash files, I 'presumed' it would be easy, set Captivate 4 to include animations, set it to AS3 if needed or Flash player 10 when i publish but nothing.

I can just about get Raptivity interactions to work using the fix.swf, its a pain to get 2 or 3 in one course however.  Have found the workaround (publish each one individually as a swf in Captivate then load into the main Captivate file) but its a hassle.

I've recently discovered http://www.eactivity.net/eactivitynet/Home.aspx which is similar to Raptivity but much cheaper.  I think the sites superb and thres a fair few interactions I like but i cant get these to import into Captivate at all.
