Stopping auto advancing slides

Afternoon,

I have previously been using captivate 8 to create simulations. I have had slides auto pausing at 1.5 seconds and not unpausing into an action has been completed e.g continue button must be clicked. However I have found when creating new simulations now using captivate 9 clicking on the slide will unpause the slide which will lead it to advancing to the next slide regardless of whether or not the correct action has been completed.

This has only been a problem for brand new simulations created in captivate 9. Any captivates that have been imported from captivate 8 to captive 9 are not having this issue.

Below is an example of the problem. The slide should pause at 1.5 seconds and not continue to the next slide into the start button has been clicked. However if I click on the back ground of the slide it will play through the remaining 3.5 seconds and continue to the next slide. Do you have any idea on how to stop the slides from auto advancing before the correct action has been completed?

    Strange way to create a software simulation in demo mode, which should mimick the actions as they are performed. Why didn't you capture in Training mode, where click boxes are added automaticallly. AFAIK nothing has changed between 8 and 9 concerning software simulations, reason for the difference you mention must be due to some setting.

    WIth the exception of FMR slide it has not much sense to pause a slide at 1,5 secs to wait for user interaction, if you set the command to 'Go to Next Slide' because all the frames in the inactive part are never visited and superfluous.

    A much easier way would be to put a shape button on the Blank master slide, always on top. It is that Blank master slide which is used for all software simulation slides. Let that shape button pause the slide, the pausing point will be adapted to the length of each slide based on that master slide, and always be at the end of the slide. You cannot use an image button on the master slide however, which you now did. But you can mimick the look of this button by filling the shape button with an image, one for each InBuilt state.
