I prefer using the straight pointer path rather than the default arc in Captivate. Is it possible to make the straight pointer path the default in Captivate?

Thanks for your replies, Nigel and Rick. I submitted the request to the Wish/Bug form.

Extract from the help explains that this is not possible, which I agree is a shame, because I never move my mouse in an arc, I always go straight there...

By default, Adobe Captivate creates curved mouse movements on slides for a more realistic, natural feel. However, there may be times when a straight mouse path is required. For example, if you create a project in which the mouse must follow a straight line on a toolbar.

You can set the curved or straight mouse movement option for an individual slide, so your project can have a mixture of straight and curved mouse movements.

    Hi all

I always assumed the pointer path was arced because it looks much more "humanistic" and natural than an exactly straight path would look. To me, absolutely straight pointer paths look too "mechanical" or droid like.

However, setting the straight pointer path should be easy to accomplish. I believe you can do it by selecting all the slides in the Film Strip or Storyboard, clicking the little Mouse icon in the corner of the thumbnail, then choosing "Straight Pointer Path" from the menu that should appear.

Aside from that, anyone that would like to see the straight pointer path as an option when recording should request the same from the development team. You do that via the Wish Form.
