Struggling with shadows

It would have been nice, in Adobe Captivvate 8, if button shadows could be applied automatically for the entire project in the Object Style Manager, so that they have a consistent look.  This is not the case, so we have to apply the shadow each time we use a button in the project.

But that sounds easier than it is!  I have a preference for an inner shadow along the right and along the bottom of the buttons.  After clicking this choice, Captivate almost allways decides to assign a different shadow.  Convincing it to accept the shadow of my choice takes a long struggle.

Does anyone have an easy solution for this?

Hi Nathan,

You may like to try "Apply to all items of this type" and "Apply to all items of this style" in the object properties panel.

Hari

Hi Nathan

Sounds as if you may have discovered a bit of a bug, as you seem unable to be consistent with it. So for starters, I'd suggest reporting it as a bug using the link below:

One workaround would involve copying a button with the desired shadow in place, then pasting.

Dear Rick,

Thank you for replying.

Don't the technical people Adobe read the posts in this forum?

But OK, I will do as you suggested.

Dear Hari,

Thank you for your reply.

Interesting: your solution works for existing buttons, but not as a default for new buttons.
