Success Caption not appearing - Drag and drop

I've created a Drag and Drop slide with both "failure" and "Success" captions.  Under Drag and Drop on the Properties menu I've selected "Go to the next slide" for the "On succcess" action.  (I've set infinite attempts so if someone fails they get a "try again" failure caption and keep trying untill "success.")

When the drags are correctly dropped, the slide advances - but the Success Caption never appears.  I'm pretty new to this, so any help is appreciated.

You don't tell which exact version you are using (see Help, About Captivate), but you bump onto a difference (one of many) between other quiz slides and D&D slides. There is no direct way to pause the slide for the time set to the captions which is normally by default set to 3 seconds. The D&D slide pauses at 1.5 secs (not visible on the Timeline which is a UI bug). But since you changed the Success action from the default Continue to Go to Next slide, the caption has no time to appear.

Solution: get back to the default Success action which is 'Continue' and you'll see the Success caption for 1.5secs. If that is too short, increase the duration of the slide. You don't have issues with the Failure caption because the slide remains paused due to the Infinite Attempts.

Your issue is that the Success action occurs immediately when you Submit the interaction and that does not give enough time for the success caption to be visible to the user.

If you want to see the Success caption, change the success action to Continue.  If your slide is 3 seconds in length and the Drag and Drop interaction is pausing the timeline at the usual 1.5 seconds in, then that will mean you see the success caption for about 1.5 seconds before the slide moves to the next slide.

Another more complex solution is to have the success action execute an Advanced Action that delays the Go to Next Slide action by a given timeframe.  But just using Continue as the action should be a simpler solution for you as a beginner.
