Question

Supported Audio and Video file formats able to be imported into Captivate 2019?

Hello,

Does anyone have a list of the supported file type imports for Audio and Video into Captivate 2019? We are looking to upgrade from Captivate 7 and generally use MP# for Audio and MP4 for video but was hoping to get a list of supported audio/video just in case something changes.

Thank you,

Darren

Hi @darrenp24353575  - I had this question as well since I started using CapClass2019 last year, and found this question of yours which hadn't been answered. While it's been a while and I'm sure you've figured out your situation, I'd like to at least offer up what I found elsewhere on a hunt so the next person coming here doesn't have to leave to do so, and has something to work with. I haven't verified all of these, but have worked with most of them, including the .SVG file format which wasn't included in the answers I found. If you are going to scale a vector graphic (let's say a small circle that grows with a Captivate effect, it's definitely best to use the Media > SVG import method rather than Media > image input with a png - even if it's set at a higher resolution . . . otherwise the end element will appear blurry, unless it's an SVG, in my experience thus far. The underlined I've tried as well as directly from a PPT.

Import Formats
Video: MP4, AVI, FLV, MPEG, WMV
Audio: MP3, WAV
Images: JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP
Documents: PPT (PowerPoint presentations)
Animations: HTML5 animations
Export Formats
Projects: CPTX (Captivate Project), CP (Captivate Source File)
Video: MP4
Audio: MP3
Images: JPG, PNG
Other: SWF (Flash), HTML5 (swf not recommended any longer since Flash no longer supported)
also supports closed caption (CC) formats like SRT and VTT12

Hope that helps someone else coming here!
