SVG or PNG for Navigation Icons on a Master slide?

Hi there, the title says it all I guess...

I am using navigation buttons on a Master slide and I was wondering if someone could share experience?

I am currently using SVG icons but at times it takes some time for them to load.

If you do not have a need to scale the graphics, just stay with png if the rendering of the SVG's is causing issues.
