Question

SVG will not come to front in Captivate 9.

I am working in a responsive design (Cap 9).  I tried to import and SVG both to the Master slide and a single slide on the filmstrip. The SVG goes to the back and cannot be brought forward. Also, tried sending everything else back with no success.  Images do come in correctly.  Has anyone else solved this issue?

    Hi there,

I tried 'Arrange>Bring forward/bring backward' options for an SVG and is working fine for me. Is it happening for a specific project? Can you please share a sample project with us so that we can investigate the issue at our end. Please upload it to a shared workspace(Dropbox) and send me the link at nsukumar@adobe.som.

    Thanks,

    Nimmy Sukumaran.

    Hi Nimmy,

Did you still need an example for this? I have one, but I wanted to double check the address you left for dropbox (.som or .com?).  Additionally I wanted to point out that it doesn't happen the same way in every preview method but if you export a .pdf of the file - it does.  This is definitely a bug.

    Thanks,

I just double checked, and can insert a SVG without having this issue, both on a master slide and a normal slide. Some questions: which theme did you use? For the master slide: which master slide in that theme? You can have objects on the main master slide or the master slide that are set to be always on top. Because you are telling this is not happening with normal images, I don't think this is the cause.

Next question: how were those SVG's created? I found that these settings in Illustrator work best:

The Convert to Outline is only necessary if you have text in the SVG and want to preserve that text, whatever font you used. The CSS Properties are important, choose 'Presentation Attributes'.
