Question

SVGs vs PNGs Responsive project

Hi there

Been working on a responsive course.  And I origonally used  PNGs on my smart shapes for the buttton designs.  Simple graphic with text.  BUt when the project is played on a Mobile phone (in my case a Galaxy S8) The text goes to super low resolution.
So I then went to Graphic with no text, and text overtop within captivate.  Get slightly better results, but the text does not scale down small enough to fit within my buttons without getting the "show more" popup, I cannot have this.

So, then moved over to using SVGs, App looks how I need it, Text is crisp an readable on all devices I have tested on.  But now I have an issue where it takes forever for the SVGs to load.  I have 2 custom states on my buttons, so It has 5 SVGs to load. But it takes about 1 second for them to load up. which does not look great.
There is also an issue on iOS where the SVG buttons require a double tap, but when I tried it with PNG buttons, it worked as required.

SO really, I am looking to see if there is a work around to the low resolution of PNG, or a solution to the slow loading and iOS double tap issue on SVG?

Any advise is much appeciated!

Cheers!

You probably know that I am a Win user, not on Mac at all (although I have an iPad Pro for other Adobe apps).

Are you talking about the all New version or about Captivate Classic?  For responsive projects I would always recommend to use SVGs as much as possible but it is very saddening that the new version 12, which is exclusively meant to create responsive project, didn't improve nor recommend replacing bitmap images by SVGs at all, on the contrary. I create multiple blogs about using SVGs in Captivate Classic, but almost none of those blogs is valid anymore. Indeed, when I explore that version (cannot use it professionally due to its many limitations) I have seen that creating the SVGs from their coded version is much slower as well. I know it is happening on runtime, but that shouldn't be the case in a brand new version meant to be used mainly for output on mobile devices which do not have the same hard- and software power as desktop/laptops.

Ah yeah sorry should have clarified,
    I am on Captivate 11.5.5.553.

Gave up on Captivate 12, until it becomes a bit more usable.

Was hopefing to use SVGs since they are vectors, so keeping my text sharp, but The slow loading is far from ideal for my current project 😕😕

Same here, but I was very frustrated when I saw its use was not even better in 12.
